Adelante’s ongoing volunteer needs include:Art Projects
Decorate bulletin boards in residences, teach art in various media to program participants.
Back In Use
Help out with periodic equipment donation drives or cleanup donated equipment and assistive devices of this highly effective program that recycles devices and equipment to people in need at no cost.
Bargain Square Thrift Stores
Sort donated items, clean items if needed, or organize our store shelves at Bargain Square locations in Los Lunas.
Clerical Support in Offices and Day Programs
There’s a wide range of needs, applicable to many skill and interest areas.
Our staff members take clients on outings every day to educational and community activities. Extra people would make the experiences even more enriching for our program participants.
Desert Harvest Food Rescue
Support Adelante's Desert Harvest Food Rescue Program in its mission to reduce hunger and food waste in New Mexico. Volunteers pick up surplus food from area restaurants and other food service sites and deliver it to local nonprofit agencies that feed the hungry.
Help organize a fundraising event to benefit Adelante programs and services.
Many of our group residences would benefit from loving attention given to their gardens and yards. Volunteer groups can help with major installations like making a new property more accessible.
Perform music in one of our various group residences or day programs, or teach a client to utilize a musical instrument.
Reading to Program Participants
Many of Adelante clients with visual impairments and developmental delays take great joy in being read to at our residential homes or day programs.
