Adelante has operated affirmative businesses since 1985. They provide valuable services for area businesses while providing employment for people with disabilities.

Assembly Services & Packaging

This was Adelante's first business and is still a great enviroment for people with disabilities to work. People who work at ASAP do hand assembly of convention and benefits kits in addition to packaging a wide variety of products. Some employees work hands-on and others operate packaging equipment like blisterpack and shrink wrap machines.

Bargain Square Thrift Store

Bargain Square has two locations, on in Belen and one in Los Lunas. Both stores provide retail training and customer service job opportunities for people with disabilities. Some employees of the store greet customers and help stock the shelves, other people help intake and sort donations. The Bargain Square stores are open seven days a week for shoppers, but provide services for people with disabilities Monday through Friday.

Adelante uses the donation center of the Belen Bargain Square store to provide a site where the agency packages sales kits for local businesses. Some of the employees of Bargain Square work in this area as well.

Adelante accepts donations of new or gently used clothing, household goods, toys, games, books, and more. Visit the Bargain Square donations part of the site for more information.

Document Destruction Services

DDS is our newest business. It opened in October 2003 and today provides shredding services for over 150 businesses in Albuquerque. At this job site, people have the opportunity to sort documents that need to be shredded and to operate machines that destroy paper and electronic media.

Facilities Support Services

FSS provides janitorial and landscape maintenance services to business and government entities all over New Mexico. People who work at FSS might vacuum, clean bathrooms or worksites, pick up trash, and maintain the interior and exterior of businesses. Some employees are stationed at a particular work location and are dedicated to maintaining a certain facility, others travel from location to location on mobile work crews.

FLETC

Adelante operates the dormitories at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico. Through the contract we provide work for people with qualifying disabilities including front desk/check-in, housekeeping, janitorial, and laundry services.

Mailing Services

Adelante Mailing Services is one of the largest bulk mailing businesses in New Mexico. It provides employment for over 70 people with disabilities who label, zip code sort, and collate mailing jobs for businesses in the Albuquerque area.
