The Independent Living program at Adelante is not facility based as it is in a lot of agencies. Instead, the people participating in Adelante’s Independent Living program live in their own apartments or homes, either alone, with roommates, or with family, and Adelante staff members check in on a scheduled basis to support them in any way necessary. The Independent Living program provides the greatest amount of freedom and community interaction of any of the agency’s residential programs, with minimal intrusion. Participants receive training and support to do their banking, cleaning, and all the life skills necessary to live in the community.

Adelante operates the Independent Living program in Valencia County and in the Albuquerque metro area.
